The heart.bit sessions
A collective performance through music and free movement in which the essential concept of work is directly linked to the computer bit, a simplified metaphor of “on” (mindful attention - presence) versus “off” (distraction - absence). A necessary counterpoint where we must place our attention if we want to remain awake, fully present in the now, rather than lost in a mental haze of distraction, disorder, and lack of clarity.
the heart.bit
In the digital age we live in, we tend to replace the beat of the heart with the computer bit, with all the everything and nothing that it entails.
We have been dominated by the mind and trapped by judgment. And in proportion to the saturation that surrounds us, both inside and outside the screens, our existential emptiness has grown, a hallmark of a society overwhelmed by superficiality and abundance.
As the mind and judgment increasingly hijack our attention, we drift further and further away from ourselves. Barely noticing it, we disconnect from the body and the heart. Slowly, we move away from our essence, our originality, our authentic and creative being. And, without realizing it, some of our most fundamental capacities (inner listening, intuition, and ancestral wisdom) begin to wane.
The Heart.bit Sessions is a collective performance designed to quiet the noise of the mind through music and free movement. It is an opportunity for self-discovery, both as individual and collective beings. A musical pause in daily life where creativity, experimentation, and play flow through the liberation of the body. A space to recognize internal landscapes; to encounter noise and silence; density and emptiness; vibration and stillness; oscillation, gravity, and weight; orientation and disorientation; the internal and the external; the personal and the foreign; speed and slowness… Without words, grounded on the floor that supports us and connected to the heart through breath.
To anchor ourselves and suspend in the space of our own unique universe. To learn to detect the “on/off states” of consciousness. To work in a more authentic, honest, sincere, productive, and creative way. Allowing self-regulation processes to flow in the micro-moments of transition that occur consciously but not reflectively, between stimulus and response.
